At the request of Samaritan’s Purse, please don’t contact the resettling Afghan families. Tight guidelines provided by the US government restrict communication with these individuals. Alliance Bible Fellowship’s point person (LeAnn Gregory) will have direct communication between the church and the families.
Alliance Bible Fellowship is partnering with Samaritan’s Purse to help in the process of Afghan resettlement in Boone, NC.
In recent months our Elders have discussed the possibility of helping people fleeing Afghanistan to resettle in the US. It appears our church is going to have that opportunity! We believe God is asking us to consider joining Him in the work He is doing to show Afghans the hands and feet of Jesus. What a privilege and a large undertaking.
What is involved? In a word, PEOPLE. Certainly, there are lots of details, housing, transportation, piles of paperwork, school, insurance, language, culture clash, food etc…but so many of these require people, like you and me.
This is an URGENT need because Afghan people are being relocated by Thanksgiving. This email is to generate interest as well as create a team to possibly help. Are you interested in considering being part? Before we determine our availability to handle such a venture, we need to explore whether we have the “human resources” to shoulder this load.
- Heb. 13:2 “Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.”
- Phil. 2:4 “Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others”
- John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.”
