More Than: A Chronic Illness Support Group
Tuesday, October 19 | 6:30-8:00pm
For the 2021-2022 year, we will meet IN-PERSON in Room 102 on the second Tuesday of every month (September – May) from 6:30-8:00pm at Alliance Bible Fellowship. The next meeting is Tuesday, November 9 (we had to move the date for the month of October). This year, we will discuss Dark Clouds, Deep Mercy: Discovering the Grace of Lament by Mark Vroegop. Participants do not need to read the book to participate. A Christ centered group for people living with chronic illness. Find lasting community and fellowship in a safe place where you can lament and be encouraged through God’s Word and the support of others with chronic illness. Our mission is to instill hope through Scripture that we are “More Than” anything we may face (Romans 8:35-37). Contact Amanda Cottrell at firstname.lastname@example.org for more details and to sign up to receive notifications for the meetings.
12 Step Life Recovery Group for Women
Safe Harbor Recovery Center for Women has a program for women who are recovering from addiction. These meetings are Wednesdays (beginning September 22) at 12:00pm at 890 West King Street.
Police Officers Need to be Adopted
While a bulletproof vest affords a certain level of protection for officers, an even greater blessing and shield of protection can be found in the power of prayer. The goal of Adopt-A-Cop is to assign every individual officer to a person or family who will pray for them on a daily basis and send an occasional note offering encouragement, prayer support, and gratitude for the service they provide. If you wish to participate, you may email Trish at TrishLKanipe@gmail.com to sign up.
Need Old Vehicles for Beater or Better
Alliance needs your old vehicle for our ministry called Beater or Better. We give old vehicles to people in need in our community. The vehicles don’t have to be running (we know mechanics to get ‘em running again). If you have an old vehicle you want to give away, email the office at email@example.com.
Chosen Ministry Adopt-A-Family
The Chosen Ministry has a new way for you to be involved in serving and caring for families going through the adoption and foster care process. Through this program, you are assigned a specific family to care for. The commitment is for a year. You provide them with meals, rides, house work, or whatever is helpful for them. If this is something you or a life group might be interested in, please fill out the form. You will then be assigned a family that is the best fit for you. Please consider helping to show God’s love to one of these families by walking alongside them this year.
