Marriage is God’s idea. He created it to meet some of His creation’s deepest needs. When husbands and wives live according to his plan and design, marriage is intimate, satisfying, and the source of some of the greatest blessings one can experience. When they don’t, the pain and heartache can quickly become unbearable.
Here at Alliance, we want to see every marriage thrive. We support healthy marriages through our various Marriage Ministries. Merge prepares couples for their new life together. Couples can grow and strengthen their relationship through Re|Engage and special enrichment events. But we also want to love and serve spouses experiencing difficulties and distress. We do that through RECONCILE.
My name is Tim Sellers. I’m the Director of the RECONCILE marriage intervention ministry.
RECONCILE is a gospel-centered, scripture-based ministry that helps spouses and couples in distress resolve their conflict, reconcile their relationship, and rebuild their marriage in a manner that pleases and honors Jesus. Trained RECONCILE Peace Advocates help distressed couples trust God and follow the guidance He provides in His Word to find healing, harmony, and peace. It’s hard work that requires prayer, time, and attention. There is often opposition from the world and the devil. But our God is greater than any obstacles or opposition that may arise. He is faithful and able to do amazing works in the hearts and lives of spouses who love Him and are willing to follow His direction.
You can learn more about RECONCILE HERE. We are sharing this with you today so you will know that the ministry is in place and that Peace Advocates are ready to serve. RECONCILE is for Alliance members and regular attendees. Participation requires a pastor referral. If you are experiencing distress in your marriage, contact a pastor for a referral. If you know someone else who is, encourage them to do so. Don’t wait. Marital distress won’t go away or get better on its own. Reach out and get help finding God’s path to reconciliation and marriage as He intends, no matter how discouraged or distressed you may be. There’s always hope because, with God, all things are possible!
