Trail Life USA is a Christian adventure, character, and leadership movement for our nation’s young men. Our exciting program centers on outdoor experiences that build a young man’s skills and allow him to grow on a personal level and as a role model and leader for his peers. This Christ-centered program is chartered by Christian churches and organizations and led by Christian adult leaders using a specifically Christian Biblical worldview as our standard. As young men progress through the various levels of the TRAIL LIFE USA program, they take part in camping, leadership development, rank advancements, awards, a trail badge program, community service, summer adventures, spiritual training, and a variety of other special offerings.
Trail Life USA Troop NC-2021 is organized as a ministry of Alliance Bible Fellowship, Boone, NC and chartered pursuant to the guidelines established by Trail Life USA. Alliance Bible Fellowship is the owner and operator of the Troop, as well as all physical and financial assets. Alliance Bible Fellowship will select all leadership and establish its operations to develop its ministry most effectively. As a ministry of Alliance Bible Fellowship, we believe God is the head of our lives and our highest aim is to know Him better each day, and to help others do the same.
Woodlands Trailmen (age 5-10) work at meetings and Hit the Trail activities to earn branches towards their “Forest Award”. Branch categories include Outdoor Skills, Values, Science and Technology, Life Skills, Heritage, Sports and Fitness, and Hobbies.
Beginning at age 11, trailmen advance to the Navigators/Adventurers program, and begin their walk on the Freedom Trail. This is the path of advancement and character development that ends with the Freedom Award, the highest award in Trail Life USA. This is similar to the rank of Eagle Scout. Navigators (11-13) and Adventurers (14-17) progress through ranks by earning Trail Badges (including Aquatics, Outdoor Cooking, Bible Basics, Ropework, Woods Tools, etc.), participating in Troop Activities, community service, and holding leadership positions within the troop.
All aspects of Woodlands Trail and Navigator/Adventurer program are developed and administered through a Christian Worldview. This includes looking at all the activities that we do from a Biblical context, and incorporating Scripture into each of our meetings. In addition, Trail Life incorporates the Worthy Life program throughout the year, which is an age-appropriate, Bible-focused track that consists of Bible studies administered by our Troop Chaplain, Scripture Memorization, and personal devotion and prayer.
