ImpactU is an eight-and-a-half-week summer ministry internship at Alliance Bible Fellowship in Boone, North Carolina, created to help young adults grow in their faith, develop as leaders, and experience the everyday work of local church ministry.
ImpactU interns will learn directly from Alliance pastors and ministry leaders, receive daily ministry and theological training, serve in hands-on ministry, and participate in two mission trips. It’s an opportunity to spend your summer being challenged, equipped, and invested in as you learn what it means to faithfully serve Jesus and His Church.
-----
what you'll experience
ImpactU is more than an opportunity to observe ministry—you’ll be part of it.
Throughout the summer, interns will work directly with our College Pastor while also serving with and learning from other pastors and ministry leaders across Alliance. Each day will include opportunities for theological and practical ministry training, intentional discipleship, and hands-on experience.
You’ll learn more about Scripture and theology, develop practical ministry skills, discover and strengthen your gifts, and gain a better understanding of how different areas of the local church work together to accomplish its mission.
The summer will also include two mission trips, giving you the opportunity to serve beyond our local church and experience ministry in different contexts.
-----
What You’ll Learn
Our goal isn’t simply to give interns something to do for the summer. We want to invest in you.
Through daily training, discipleship, conversations with ministry leaders, and real ministry experience, you’ll have opportunities to grow in your understanding of the Bible and theology while learning how those truths shape the way we lead and serve. You’ll get an inside look at local church ministry, learn from pastors and leaders with years of experience, and have opportunities to ask questions, take on responsibility, receive feedback, and put what you’re learning into practice. Most importantly, ImpactU is designed to help you become a more mature follower of Jesus—wherever He leads you next.
-----
who should apply?
ImpactU is designed for young adults ages 18–23 who love Jesus, want to grow in their faith, and are eager to learn what it looks like to serve others through the local church.
You do not have to be a college student, and you do not have to be a member of Alliance Bible Fellowship to participate. However, applicants should be members or regular attenders of a local church.
You don’t need to have your future figured out or know whether vocational ministry is in your plans. ImpactU is for young adults who are teachable, ready to serve, and willing to spend a summer intentionally growing as followers of Jesus.
