SCOTT ANDREWS
Senior Pastor
Scott, wife, Tana, and their six children, Stephen, Jonathan, Timothy, Olivia, Laura, and Andy moved to Boone in 1997. He is committed to seeing the Word of God transform the lives of God’s people at Alliance. His passion is to see Alliance be a kingdom church, where broken people find grace, healing, and forgiveness.

HUNTER COULTRAP
Worship Pastor
Hunter and his wife, Mary Lee, moved to Boone from Columbia, South Carolina in June of 2018. They have two kids - Henry and Caroline. Hunter graduated from the University of South Carolina with a degree in Music Education and completed seminary at Southeaster Baptist Theological Seminary with a degree in Christian Ministries. Hunter has a passion to lead God’s people in worship and to equip the church in family worship! Hunter likes music production, being a cheeseburger connoisseur, and all things Formula One!

DOM JOSEPH
College Pastor
Dom and his wife Karlie moved to Boone in November of 2024. They have two children, Judah & Zechariah. He is a graduate from the University of the Cumberlands and student at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary working on his MDiv in Pastoral Ministry. He loves discipling and walking alongside college students to know God’s word and follow Christ faithfully. Dom loves football. On most weekends, you can catch him watching Alabama Football (Roll Tide) or cheering on the New York Giants (Go Giants).

MICHAEL TALLEY
Discipleship Pastor
Michael and his wife Laura moved to Boone in August of 2012. They have five children, Audrey, Emmy, Bailey, Abel, and Alisa. Michael graduated from Appalachian State and Gordon Conwell and he's completing a degree at Union School of Theology in Wales. He attended Alliance as a college student and now serves as the Discipleship Pastor. He loves helping God’s people grow in their love for God’s word. Michael loves to read, watch the Carolina Panthers, and serve the local church.

CAMERON LLOYD
Youth & Family Pastor
Cameron Lloyd is a graduate of Liberty University and studies at Southern Seminary. Cameron joined the team at Alliance as an intern in 2017. He is passionate about family discipleship, seeing teens get excited about the gospel, and connecting the next generation to the mission of the church. Cameron and his wife, Hunter, have two children — Molly and Graham. On any given afternoon, you can find them strolling around one of Watauga’s great parks. Cameron likes to read, grow his beard, spy on deer, and shiver in a pair of perforated waders.

ANDREW BEHM
Administrative Director
Andrew and his wife Jennifer, moved to Mountain City, TN in 2021 and started attending ABF in 2023. Andrew oversees the Support Staff and operations. He is passionate about his partnership with the Pastoral Staff and ministry leaders in assisting them to effectively and efficiently fulfill their objectives of ministering to the ABF congregation, local community, and beyond. Prior to moving to Mountain City, Andrew served as the Executive Pastor of Fellowship Bible Church in Winchester, VA for 12 years.

KIM BENSON
Adult Ministries Assistant
Kim moved to Boone in 2008 and enjoys mountain life with her husband Joe and 4 kids: Luke, Riley, Julia and Addie. She graduated from Calvin University with degrees in Communications and English. She loves words of any kind. Other things she loves include coffee, books, hiking, sports, and quality time with people.

EMILY BLACKMON
Adult & Youth Ministry Associate
Emily is originally from Raleigh, NC, but moved to Boone in 2019, when she started college at App State. Upon graduation in 2023, she completed a year-long student ministry internship in Texas before returning to Boone in 2024. She has a passion for equipping the next generation to know God, love His Word, and share the truth with others. She loves spending time with her friends and family, good music, and iced coffee.

KIMI BREWER
College Ministry Associate
Kimi and her husband, Terry, moved to Boone from Charlotte in July of 2020. They have been blessed with four children: Savannah, Luke, David, and Paul. Kimi graduated from the University of Florida. She is passionate about sharing the love of Jesus with college students. Kimi enjoys camping, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.

BROOKLYNN BROCK
College Ministry Intern
Brooklynn was born in Houston, TX but claims Baton Rouge, LA as her home after moving in 2014 with her parents and two younger siblings. She graduated from Truett McConnell University (Cleveland, GA) in May 2023 with a degree in Psychology. She played indoor and beach volleyball in college which deepened her desire to work in college athletics. She moved to Boone in July 2023, to work at App State as their Director of Volleyball Operations. For almost two years, she poured into student athletes on the volleyball team and rediscovered a passion for ministry. She is excited to have the opportunity to step into the college ministry at Alliance Bible Fellowship.

BOB DAVIDSON
Facilities Director
In January 2022, Bob and his wife Maryann moved from Cartersville, GA., to a cabin in Butler, TN. He enjoys spending time with family, being outdoors, hunting, and fly fishing. Bob is passionate about this role because he gets to use his expertise to maintain the church facilities for the glory of the Lord. He also loves spending time with his granddaughter.

LIBBY DOWELL
Financial Manager
Libby graduated from Appalachian State University with a degree in Finance, where she also met and married her husband, Tim. Together, they have three grown children. While she feels fortunate to use her skills in managing ABF's finances, she is passionate about serving on the ABF Missions Committee. Libby loves living in the mountains and vacationing at the beach.

SHAWNA DUVALL
Women’s Ministry Director
Shawna moved to Boone in 2015 with her husband, Greg, and three amazing kids. She graduated from Texas A&M University and Wheaton College and is currently pursuing an MTh from Union School of Theology. Her heart beats for teaching and training women to dig deep into God’s Word and experience the transforming power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

JULIE HARTLEY
Little Alliance Playschool Coordinator
Julie is a graduate of Appalachian State University, where she met her husband, Kris. The “Boonerang Effect” brought them back to the High Country in 2012. They immediately became plugged into ABF through the life group and children’s ministry. Julie began working with Mom’s Morning Out as a teacher in 2019, and is passionate about the opportunity to connect with families through this ministry. She enjoys adventures with her husband and three kids (Knox, Noah, & Salem), and loves any excuse to get together with other moms!

HEATHER HAYES
Children’s Ministry Director
Heather and her family have been attending Alliance since 2006. She lives in Avery county with her husband, Kent and their two 2 sons and 3 daughters. She has been involved in Children’s Ministry for over 2 decades and has a passion and love for preschool children and their families. She enjoys all sorts of outdoor activities with her family, watching movies, knitting, and living on a mountain with goats, chickens, ducks, and dogs.

KRISTA HOWARD
Office Manager
Krista is originally from Charlotte, NC, and moved to Boone in 2013. She and her husband Bill have three daughters, Rebekah, Ella, and Suzanna. She has served at Alliance since 2014. Her free time is spent being outside in the beautiful mountains and spending time with family and friends.

CAROLYN JONES
Facilities Assisstant
Carolyn and her family moved to Boone in 2006 and started attending ABF in 2009 where she has enjoyed volunteering in the Children’s Ministry sharing the word of God. In her free time you can find her hiking with her family, reading, and playing with her granddaughter.

KATIE JONES
Facilities Assisstant
Katie grew up in ABF making memories in Awana and youth group. She has continued to find joy serving the church as a facilities assistant since 2021. She enjoys reading, gardening, and petting every cat in the world.

NICHOLAS JONES
Communications Manager
Nicholas moved to Boone and joined the Alliance staff in 2024 from his beloved Texas. He and his wife, Lianne, have a 9-year-old daughter named Holly (and a cat named Jacob Marley and a dog named Lois.) He enjoys woodworking, sushi, root beer, scary movies, and cool mountain air.

LIZ PALMER
Administrative Assistant
Liz grew up in High Point, NC, and moved to Boone to attend Appalachian State University in 2020. She began attending Alliance in the fall of that year and began attending College Connection. In May 2024, Liz graduated with a degree in Creative Advertising and a minor in Statistics. She married Jackson in July 2024. Liz enjoys meeting new people, so feel free to stop by and say hello. In her free time, she loves quilting and drinking Dr. Pepper.

KOOPER POORBAUGH
Children’s Ministry Intern
Kooper grew up in Ashland, Ohio, but moved to North Carolina in 2016 and lived in Bunn through his middle and high school years. Kooper graduated from App State in 2025 with a degree in Spanish and Hispanic Studies. Kooper is passionate about serving the Kingdom of God in whatever way he can, but has a special place in his heart for Children’s Ministry. He married his incredible wife, Rose, in January 2026. He currently attends Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. In his spare time, you can find him playing one of his many instruments, watching Cleveland or Ohio State sports, camping, cooking, or spending time with friends and family.

ISABELLE SASSER
Children’s Ministry Associate
Isabelle grew up near Raleigh, NC and moved to Boone to attend App State in 2020. That winter she got plugged into the children’s ministry and realized her passion for discipling children, teaching them the Word of God, and serving in the church. After graduating in May 2024 with a degree in Elementary Education she joined the Alliance staff. In her free time she enjoys baking, spending time with friends and family, and eating ice cream cones.

SAM SHUTTLEWORTH
Missions & Outreach Associate
Sam moved to Boone in 2019 to attend App State. He graduated in December 2022 with a degree in Recreation Management. He and his wife, Savannah, love serving the church, connecting with people, and advancing God’s kingdom through mission work. Over the years, God has led them on multiple overseas mission trips to preach the Word and show the Lord’s love. In his spare time, you can find him hiking, playing racquetball, or drinking coffee.

CLAYTON THORNTON
AVL Director
Clayton and his family moved to Boone in 2022 from Nashville, Tennessee. A North Greenville University graduate, Clayton’s career began with an internship at Cirque du Soleil, which segued into a decade of global event production and touring with various music artists. He focuses on using technical equipment as a creative tool for intentional storytelling and brings that same passion to every project he leads. Clayton met his wife, Lyndsey, while working on a church Christmas production in Kentucky. They are the proud parents of two boys, Daniel and Jacob, and are dedicated to navigating the unique rewards and challenges of raising a child with special needs. It is a journey that fuels Clayton’s passion for purposeful work and community connection.

JACAN WARD
Worship & AVL Associate
Jacan Ward was born and raised in Avery County and started attending Alliance in 2020. He has been a touring/gigging musician and tech since 2018. Jacan is passionate about worshiping God through music and praising and growing our youth in their musical gifting to lead Worship. In his free time, he enjoys riding motorcycles and exploring the woods with friends and family.

CAMERON WHITE
Youth Ministry Associate
Cameron, his wife, Hanna, and their two boys, Azriel and Theodore, moved to Boone in June of 2025. He graduated from Arizona Christian University with a degree in Biblical and Theological studies, and is currently studying at Southern Seminary. Cameron is passionate about teaching students, walking alongside teens as they grow in the grace of the gospel, sharing the gospel with unbelievers, and learning what it means to be a fully devoted follower of Christ in every season of life. During his off-time, Cameron enjoys reading, watching the Kansas City Chiefs win (or lose) another Super Bowl, and spending time outdoors with his wife and boys.
